DESCRIPTION:During our Kingdom Come series\, we are discovering the heart of God for our community and across the globe\, learning the how to posture ourselves to be “Kingdom” bringers in the areas God has called us to. \nAs the Executive Director of AGWM and a great friend of Mount Hope Church\, we are excited to have Greg Mundis with us on Sunday\, November 14 for our morning services\, as well as a leadership building night at the Creyts campus at 6:00pm with special childcare provided. Greg bring a wealth of knowledge\, wisdom\, and heart after serving in missions for over 40 years\, and we know this love and compassion for people will be caught on this impactful Sunday. \n\nAbout Greg\nAs executive director of AGWM\, Greg Mundis provides leadership for 2\,685 AG missionaries and associates who serve 252 countries\, territories\, and provinces. \nA native of Ohio\, Greg grew up in the Youngstown area. He accepted Christ at the age of 13 during a military chapel service in Fort Gordon\, Georgia\, while visiting his sister. Returning home\, he soon began attending a small Italian Pentecostal church and was baptized in the Holy Spirit. \nAfter high school Greg enrolled at Youngstown State University to study political science\, but his plans soon changed. At a Sunday evening church service\, he was praying at the altar when he sensed God’s call to ministry. A message in tongues and interpretation confirmed God’s plan for his life. \nGreg transferred to Central Bible College in Springfield\, Missouri\, and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in biblical studies. Afterward\, he and his wife Sandie served as youth pastors at a church in Lima\, Ohio\, before returning to Springfield in 1974. For the next four years they were youth pastors at Central Assembly of God. \nWhile listening to a description of the spiritual needs in Austria\, Greg felt an overwhelming burden for the nation and its people. The Mundises responded to God’s call and were appointed as missionaries to Austria\, arriving in Salzburg in 1980. While learning German\, they quickly became involved in church planting\, media\, and education. \nIn 1987 Greg cofounded an international church\, Vienna Christian Center\, and served as pastor for four years. The church has since grown into a flourishing congregation of more than 2\,000 people meeting in several locations. \nGreg was named area director for Central Europe in 1991. When AGWM made the Europe Region a distinct entity in 1998\, Greg was selected as its first regional director. For the next 13 years he developed strategies to increase ministries to the region’s cities\, campuses\, and children and helped raise awareness of the culturally diverse communities created by the swell of immigrants coming to the region. He also initiated greater communication among missionaries involved in similar ministries across Europe by providing opportunities for them to network and exchange ideas. In 2011 he was elected as AGWM executive director. \nAlong with the Executive Committee\, Greg is committed to fulfilling AGWM’s mission to establish the Church among all peoples everywhere by reaching\, planting\, training\, and serving. \nIn addition to a bachelor’s degree\, Greg earned a master’s degree in theology from Assemblies of God Theological Seminary in Springfield and a doctorate in ministry from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in South Hamilton\, Massachusetts. He and Sandie have two children and eight grandchildren.

DESCRIPTION:The first time we see the activity of the Holy Spirit in Scripture is in Genesis at the creation of the world: “The earth was formless and empty\, and darkness covered the deep waters. And the Spirit of God was hovering the surface of the waters” (Gen. 1:2).  \nThe Spirit of God was hovering over the chaos and lack of order on the earth. At the Father’s command at creation\, the Spirit was about to transform the world from chaos to beauty. Would you join me in prayer at the beginning of this upcoming year? Let’s ask the Lord to do that again!  \nThe word formless or without form comes from a Hebrew word that means a place of confusion and chaos. Does that sound familiar at all? This last year has been filled with darkness\, confusion\, and chaos. But what if all the chaos and confusion could be turned into something beautiful? What if we transitioned from a global pandemic to a global awakening? Our heart cries out\, Do it again\, Lord! \nWill you and your church family join Mount Hope Church\, along with churches across our community\, to pray together? The urgency of this moment calls for us to set aside business as usual and seek God together. It is the Church on her knees\, and in action\, that can usher in an awakening set to change the face of our communities\, state\, and nation.

His perspective on life\, death\, salvation and service is different because of the things he experienced growing up there\, in a missionary family\, rather than here\, in the comfort\, safety and abundance of middle-class America. \nAs a child\, he developed a faith that works and a passion for sharing his faith with people who are without—the poor; the oppressed; the hopeless; the lost. That faith is his life\, and it drove him to found the Live Dead movement\, reflecting the deepest level of spiritual commitment. \n“We are to die to self and live through Christ\,” said Brogden. “From there we get His passion for the world\, His strength\, His vision and our marching orders.” \nLive Dead is an initiative that focuses on planting churches among unreached people groups through multi-national teams. More than 40 percent of the world doesn’t have access to the gospel\, according to the Live Dead research. Of the world’s 16\,448 people groups\, more than 7\,000 are unreached—not a single church\, Christian or Christian witness is known to exist. \nBrogden currently lives in Cairo\, Egypt\, with his wife\, Jennifer\, and their two sons\, Luke and Zack. They oversee both the Cairo Training Team and the Live Dead Arab World program\, as Assemblies of God World Missionaries.
