DESCRIPTION:The first time we see the activity of the Holy Spirit in Scripture is in Genesis at the creation of the world: “The earth was formless and empty\, and darkness covered the deep waters. And the Spirit of God was hovering the surface of the waters” (Gen. 1:2).  \nThe Spirit of God was hovering over the chaos and lack of order on the earth. At the Father’s command at creation\, the Spirit was about to transform the world from chaos to beauty. Would you join me in prayer at the beginning of this upcoming year? Let’s ask the Lord to do that again!  \nThe word formless or without form comes from a Hebrew word that means a place of confusion and chaos. Does that sound familiar at all? This last year has been filled with darkness\, confusion\, and chaos. But what if all the chaos and confusion could be turned into something beautiful? What if we transitioned from a global pandemic to a global awakening? Our heart cries out\, Do it again\, Lord! \nWill you and your church family join Mount Hope Church\, along with churches across our community\, to pray together? The urgency of this moment calls for us to set aside business as usual and seek God together. It is the Church on her knees\, and in action\, that can usher in an awakening set to change the face of our communities\, state\, and nation.
