I had the wonderful privilege of growing up in Papua New Guinea as a MK (missionary kid) from the age of three. I trusted in Jesus Christ as my personal Savior when I was five and enjoyed teaching the Bible to village children on a regular basis when I was a teenager. Proverbs 3:5-6 became my life verses when my Mom was killed in a tragic car accident in New Guinea during my senior year of High School. God used my Dad’s testimony during that difficult time to reaffirm my burden for missions. My wife, Shawn, and I returned to Papua New Guinea in 2000 to serve as missionaries in a remote tribal area called the Simbai. Our family loved the people and the privilege we had to share the Gospel with them and to partner with them to plant remote village churches. A highlight of our ministry was assisting the churches to establish their own mission agency, the Open Door Baptist Mission of Papua New Guinea. In 2010, God led our family to return to the U.S. and I served as the Assistant Director before becoming the Director of Open Door Baptist Missions in 2012. I am a homeschool Dad who loves to spend time with my wife and three daughters: Abby, Sydney and Hayley.
