Mount Hope Supported Since: 2020
“Planting churches… Developing leaders… Changing nations.”
Wendy and Jeremy Osborne are missionaries to Odesa, Ukraine, a city of about 1 million people situated on the Black Sea. With a heart for church planting, leadership development, and seeing nations changed for Christ, the Osbornes are excited to be a part of what God is doing in the international community of Odesa! Currently, they are itinerating, raising funds in order to church plant in Odesa.
Since landing in Ukraine in 2016, the Osbornes have spent much time learning Russian, and acclimating to the culture of Ukraine. Wendy has been instrumental in connecting two stateside ministries to meet needs that are present in Ukraine. First, Special Touch (a ministry to disabled persons and their families and caregivers) has been able to launch a ministry network in Ukraine. Second, Network 211 and Warrior’s Journey have partnered with the national church in Odesa in an effort to prepare Ukrainian veterans of war for re-entry to civilian life. This ministry seeks to reunite soldiers with their families, while simultaneously pointing them to Christ and helping them manage PTSD and other social or emotional challenges following serving their country.
This coming term, Wendy and Jeremy are planning to open a multicultural center in Odesa. This center will offer many programs and services to internationals and locals living in Odesa, Ukraine. These programs will include American university preparatory courses (utilizing Jeremy’s PhD in Mathematics), English language club, Russian language club, Alpha (a course for those who have questions about whether Christianity is right for them), as well as a weekly worship service.
Jeremy and Wendy have been married since 2003 and have three children this side of heaven — Theodora, Tobin, and Ivanna.
