Country/Region: Argentina
Mount Hope Supported Since: 1991
Rocco and his late wife, Ellen, who went to be with the Lord on August 19, 2015, have been involved in evangelism, church planting and general missionary work since 1988. They have pioneered 15 new churches to date in Argentina. Most recently planting the Life Christian Center in Buenos Aires that will also serve as the base for a New Church Planting Center for Argentina and Latin America. They are working to start a Church Planters Network for the Spanish speaking world. Their ministry has also included the launching of the “Schools of Evangelism” a mobile training center in Evangelism. These schools always work in correlation with a new church planting. They have held 15 such schools with over 200+ graduates.
In 1998, Rocco was asked to pioneer the National Home Missions Department for the A/G of Argentina called VEN (Vision de Extension Nacional), with a special thrust in Church Planting. He travels extensively encouraging churches throughout the country to participate in starting new church plantings for the propagation of the gospel in this great country. Rocco oversaw the launching of the VISION 2005 through VEN, a goal to plant 12 new churches during 2005. This goal was accomplished to the glory of God and then the VISION 2010 which multiplied the number of new churches from 24 in 2006/ 48 in 2007/ 96 in 2008/ 192 in 2009/ 384 in 2010. Ellen had been involved in a local Christian radio program directed towards the needs of women and the family as well as speaking to women in women’s groups and churches.
Continue to pray that God will strengthen Rocco and the boys in the homegoing of Ellen. Please aslo pray for God to raise up workers for Argentina!
